Jenny & Danny's Great Loop Adventure on "The Other Woman"

 Behind the Scenes on "The Other Woman"... Since we took some time off to babysit between Christmas and New Year's, I thought I would tell you a little about our "routine" while we are on the boat.  The Other Woman has 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom that includes a shower, sitting area with kitchen and dining table that looks out to outside where you can see light.  It was important to me that the kitchen was above to see out the window.  Some boats have kitchens that go downstairs.  We have 2 engines, this was one of Danny's requirements as he has seen people on boats when their one engine goes out and be floating around without any control or power.  He did not want to be one of those people.  The outside upper deck has plenty of sitting area under roof and an open back area with an electrical grill, ice maker, and sink.  Chairs and bike are stored up there as well.  Panama City Beach to Apalachicola and Carrabelle... December 19, 2022 Apalachicola... We came into the harbor at Apalachicola to find the place we were suppose to stay while wide enough, it was not long enough for us to get off the boat coming into the slip bow first.  They had no deckhands and Danny was not interested backing in with the dinghy on the back so we quickly made a change to a marina further up Scipio Creek.  This Christmas tree display is in the middle of downtown Apalachicola.  We visited here by car in the spring of 2019 and we enjoyed our stay.  Our stay on the boat was for 3 days so we can make our way to Carribelle in what looks like decent weather.                                         Apalachicola was established as a town in 1831.  At one time, it was the 3rd largest port on the Gulf.  Interestingly, the Chamber of Commerce ...

Orange Beach to Sandestin to Panama City Beach Tis' the Season... December 15, 2022 We left Ocean Beach, Alabama to go to Sandestin.  It was our plan to be there 3-4 days.  After the 1st night it was clear, we could not stay.  The direction of the wind throughout the night, made us feel like we were in the belly of the whale with very bad indigestion and reflux!    I told Danny we needed another solution.  The marina was very understanding and we decided to try to get to Panama City Beach.  Needless to say, it was a very good decision.    The marina had recently reopened after being closed for 4 years following its destruction from Hurricane Michael.  People were very nice and it was within a condo neighborhood so walking trails and the beach were right there.  Our timing in arriving on Friday afternoon was good too as the condo association was having their Christmas golf cart parade and party.  You can see golf carts decoratio...
